Madness - 2010-11-30 - Manchester Apollo, UK

This is quite a poignant recording for me and I've thought long and hard about what to do with it over the last few months. A day or so after the concert, David, a good friend who was with me on the night, was to enter hospital for a stem cell transplant in his final attempt to beat the cancer that had blighted his life for several years. To cut a long story short, and despite the actual success of his fight against cancer, David's body could take no more and he tragically lost his battle for life on Sunday 22nd May, 2011 at the far-too-young age of just 28.

My memories of this show will forever be watching him dancing and singing the night away with his girlfriend and just thoroughly enjoying himself as much as anyone else in the building. You would never have guessed that he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.

So, this recording is dedicated to the wonderful memory of David Horan. A braver man you could never wish to meet.

There is some crowd noise present (cheers Keith!), but hey, this was a Madness concert after all! At the start of the song "Madness", the crowd started singing the tune of "Tom Hark" which Suggs went along with for a minute or so. I've tracked this separately within the recording, but it is in no way the complete song.

Enjoy!  :-)

  3. got a problem either The server at strg011.umb.to is taking too long to respond

    or

the site throws up 5 - 7 pop ups and I never get the download link.

do you know if Ultramegabit allows downloading to America? Just trying to figure out why 4 hours of effort hasn't succeeded.

    but thanks for Reposting them.
Just wish I could get them!

    Thanks

    1. The links have been updated again, this time pointing to a different storage site.

Since the demise of Megaupload, finding a decent home for my recordings has been nigh on impossible. Hopefully the latest site will do the job.

      Enjoy! :-)

your a Dear!!! YES that one let me drop teh file!!!
YES!! I really do miss Mega going down!! They were a dream. Oh I'd love to throttle the US GOV for that!

I've got a Free account at MediaFire it caps out at 200mb to upload...that bites but it does have a 50gb max...that ain't so bad, I need a way to split some of the rar's I have down smaller. I've got quite a few concerts from sites long gone that (the shows) don't exist on the web anywhere I'd love to be able to reup and Of course finances are just a bit to tight to afford a paid account

Also FileFactory while annoying seems to be holding too.

DepositFiles I'd not recommend they like to go deleting uploads VERY quickly~!

      NOW for the Bad News
somehow it got the Madness 2008 show in for the 2009 & 2010 shows also.

      Thanks

    3. Wow - another upload site to cross off the list! That link was supposed to offer all 3 shows at once. Sorry!

I've gone with Mediafire this time, despite their size & retention limitations, so you should now be able to get the 2 remaining shows.

I really do hope you enjoy them after all this! :-)

  4. OH how can I not!!
you don't see much Madness around......unless you do allot of digging and hunting.

    I tend to frequent
    guitars 101
    greatful breed
    live boots...ect
large sites with allot of great groups and music but not much madness at all...I think guitars had 2 or 3 shows. and one of them I found in FLAC on another site already & I was thrilled to find that. PinkPop and I forget what the other one is, So anything I can find is a real treat!!!

yes the limits bite on mediafire!

    & Pabby
YOU'VE BEEN ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC TO ME!!!
A GREAT BIG HUG AND KISS TO YOU MATE!!
    a True GEM~!

    thanks lots
